Everything you need to get ready for FindSpark's epic networking event.

The Basics
 

  • Event Timing:

    • Doors open at 4:00pm for VIP, 5:30pm for General Admission

      • Main event: 3:30pm-8:00pm

      • Mentorship Zone: 5:00pm-8:00pm

    • We ask that Mentors stay for the duration of the time that they declared themselves available.
       

    • IMPORTANT! When you arrive  at the Mentorship Zone in the balcony, check in with a Hustle Summit Fellow and they will place you in a spot and put your name on the board. When you leave the zone, check out with a Fellow so they can remove your name. That way, attendees can see who's in and who's not.

 

  • Dress

    • Between E 15th and 16th street (map)

    • Trains nearby: L, N, Q, R. Stops on Union Square

Event Format

Our events are more fun, comfortable, and productive than your average career fair and networking event.

 

  • The Venue:

    • Ground floor // check-in, coat check, Attendee Lounge, Charging Station

    • Main floor // company and sponsor area, Resume Wall, bar, stage

    • Balcony // Mentorship Zone, bar, food table

 

  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm // Main Event Starts & Doors Open for VIP ticket holders:

    • Our VIP ticket holders will receive early entry to the event. You will also receive a book with their resumes before the event.
       

  • 5:00pm - 8:00pm // Main Event Continues & Doors Open for General Admission ticket holders:

    • Attendees will come throughout the evening, stopping by the employer tables they are interested in, and meeting you in the Mentorship Zone! They will have stickers on their name tags denoting if they are looking for internships, full-time roles, or both.

FAQs

 

Q: Do I have to be there the entire time? I can't get there by 5:15pm, stay late, etc

A: Nope! We just ask that mentors stay for a one hour time period within 5:00pm-8:00pm

 

Q: Will this be good for my personal branding? Will I get more Twitter or Instagram followers from this?

A: We can't promise followers, but we're adding our Mentors to the Hustle Summit website and we will definitely give you lots of love via social media.

 

Q: I don't quite get what I will DO as a mentor? Stand around and look pretty?

A: Well of course, you're pretty, so you'll look pretty. But really, your role as a mentor is to chat it up with attendees, share feedback on their materials (we're encouraging them to bring lots of resumes and a portfolio), make them feel comfortable with networking, and share tips on how they can move forward in their careers.

 

Q: Will these attendees expect me to give them jobs?

A: No. Attendees know that mentors are there for networking, and that our awesome companies are the ones that are definitely looking to fill roles.

 

Q: But wait, I have jobs. Can I meet people here who I can hire for internships, entry-level and mid-level roles?
